Julia Mensa
Co-Founder & CEO, Nunatak Biotech
Julia Mensa is Co-Founder & CEO of Nunatak Biotech. Using microorganisms from the southernmost regions of the world and the far south of the world, Nunatak builds biologicals designed to stack with the inputs farmers already use, delivering yield and resilience where conventional products fail.
The Argentine biotech company turned 20+ years of Antarctic microbiology research into a registered, market-ready product in under two years — a path that typically takes the industry five or more. Their flagship product, Yamana®, is a seed-applied microbial solution, and with validation across 35 field trials, it represents the first of a broader pipeline of solutions.
Julia has spoken at the UN Convention to Combat Desertification and works with the G20 Global Land Initiative. A political scientist by training, she left the public sector convinced the next climate breakthroughs will come from nature.
