Norah Kimathi
Co-Founder, Zerobionic
Norah Kimathi is the Co-Founder of Zerobionic, where she transforms ocean-bound plastic waste into solar-powered humanoid robots that deliver STEM education in sign language. Zerobionic is building Africa’s first offline, AI-powered humanoid robots designed to make science more accessible to deaf learners across the continent.
A robotics engineer and peacebuilder, Norah believes inclusion is not a programme, but a precondition for peace. Her work reorients assistive robotics around the communities it is meant to serve, while also addressing the environmental degradation that can drive conflict and displacement.
Her recognitions include the Presidential Award of Kenya, the Commonwealth Trust Honorary Award of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and becoming the first African to win the Young Engineering Award at Hannover Messe in 2026.
