Paula Feliciano Viegas is Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Banco Montepio, the oldest Portuguese financial institution, with a distinctive mutualist heritage. A senior sustainability executive with extensive experience in banking and corporate transformation, specialised in building sustainability functions and embedding ESG into governance, strategy and business decision-making.

At Banco Montepio, she leads the Group’s agenda on sustainability strategy, sustainable finance, climate transition and social impact, alongside a dedicated team committed to translating commitments into measurable outcomes.

She also represents the Bank in international sustainability and banking forums, including WSBI-ESBG, the UN Global Compact and the UN Climate Change Conferences (COP), with a particular focus on how financial institutions can support a more resilient, inclusive and low-carbon economy.
