Violet Amoabeng is the Founder & CEO of Skin Gourmet, a Ghanaian skincare company creating natural, edible-grade beauty products from locally sourced African ingredients while supporting local farmers and producers. The company turns more than 40 Ghanaian value chains, including shea, cocoa, baobab and hibiscus, into food-grade skincare, most of it genuinely edible, while keeping the processing in Ghana.

Started in 2014 with just USD 45, Skin Gourmet has since doubled the per-kilo pay of 115 shea butter processors in Northern Ghana, almost all of them women, while also doubling its own revenue between 2023 and 2025. Violet believes the people who produce Skin Gourmet’s raw materials must thrive, whether the company exists or not.
