Accelerate is a year-long series focusing on disability and employment. It’s being curated for Meaningful Business by the disability and inclusion-focused marketing and communications consultancy, Untapped. The aim of the partnership is to drive action towards greater representation of disabled people in the workplace and wider society globally. Through Accelerate, the Meaningful Business community will have an opportunity to both hear and learn from, as well as connect and collaborate with, disabled leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world.

For the launch event, Untapped’s co-founder, Suzy Christopher, was joined by Victoria Austin, co-founder and CEO of the Global Disability Innovation (GDI) Hub, and Bernard Chirra, Director, Innovate Now, to discuss the importance of employing disabled people for purpose-driven organisations. They outlined how disabled people are disproportionately negatively affected by the world’s biggest challenges and how tackling them – and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals – can only be truly successful by employing disabled people, as well as engaging disabled voices and ideas.
