Aqdar Maskur has a strong background in agriculture, community development, social entrepreneurship and climate change. He was British Council Indonesia’s Climate Champion 2011, where he began his work to promote integrated farming to smallholder farmers. The biggest component of his work is biogas facilitation functioning to produce domestic renewable energy for cooking and lighting as well as to produce foliar fertilizer and compost. He is now focusing on developing integrated farming for smallholder coffee farmers. Last year, he obtained fellowship from UNEP Eco-Peace Leadership Center where he proposed an action project to promote smallholder coffee farmers’ adaptation and mitigation to climate change. Aqdar is the Managing Director of Ritma Green, a social enterprise working on a nexus of sustainable agriculture, water management, and renewable energy.
