Denis Ogwang is a Ugandan social entrepreneur and the visionary founder of WaterKit, a technology company dedicated to solving the global water crisis, starting with his home country. At its core, WaterKit is a smart sensor technology that transforms ordinary boreholes into digitally monitored water points. The system provides real-time data on water usage, functionality, and water quality, enabling proactive maintenance and ensuring a reliable supply of safe water.

Trained as a software engineer, Ogwang’s path shifted when he witnessed the devastating and daily struggle for clean water in Northern Uganda. He saw firsthand how waterborne diseases from contaminated sources impacted health, kept children out of school, and stifled economic productivity. Rather than relying on traditional, often slow or broken solutions, he decided to leverage his technical skills to create a sustainable and scalable answer – leading to the creation of WaterKit.
