Alejandra is the Head of Sustainability at C&A Mexico, where she leads the implementation of C&A’s global sustainability strategy in the Mexican context. Her focus is on social and environmental compliance and scaling up strategies to improve sustainability in the domestic supply chain. Some of the most relevant projects from the last few years are: ReutiliC&A programme to extend the life and recycle used garments with a local partner; Biowash water saving certification which reduces the use of water in the laundry manufacturing process of denim by 60%; and increasing the use of more sustainable materials in the Mexican supply chain.
Alejandra is an environmental engineer with ten years of experience working with international brands in corporate sustainability. Currently she is also studying a Green MBA and teaches a course in Sustainable Fashion Design at ITESO University, where she focuses on enabling students to develop technical knowledge of planetary boundaries and life cycle assessment, to make better decisions while designing.
In 2019 she was listed as an Honoree in GreenBiz 30 under 30 list, which recognises young professionals leading sustainability work in their field.
