Amaia Rodríguez is a social and sustainability-focused entrepreneur with a background in International Business Administration. She began her career in Hangzhou, driving a company’s European expansion, and later served as Director of Marketing and Sales in Asia for a luxury confectionery firm in Pamplona.
Amaia’s life purpose took a profound turn when she witnessed the devastating effects of ocean plastic pollution in Southeast Asia. In late 2019, her brother Julen and her co-founded Gravity Wave, dedicated to transforming marine plastic into durable products. So far they have removed more than 300,000 kg of plastic waste, collaborating with companies, fishermen and different agents of society. Their unwavering mission is to make a positive impact on the oceans, society, and local economy, while inspiring others to join this vital cause.
