Dr. Desiré Ruhinda is the Co-Founder & COO of Medikea, a health-tech company which offers a cost-effective and convenient healthcare solution. By combining virtual and in-person care through a seamless blend of app-based telemedicine and local physical clinics, it allows patients to bypass the inconveniences of hospital visits, long waiting times and high medical bills.
With a background in medicine and extensive experience on the frontlines of healthcare in Africa, Desiré’s experience as a physician highlighted these inefficiencies, motivating him to co-found Medikea with a vision to improve accessibility and transform health delivery.
He holds a Medical Degree and a Master of Philosophy in Inclusive Innovation at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
