As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of UBQ Materials, Tato Bigio is redefining the concept and value of everything we discard. By converting household waste into a new renewable material that effectively substitutes finite resources like wood and oil-based plastics resins, UBQ is rendering landfills obsolete — one city at a time.
Tato leads UBQ, drawing from over two decades of experience in the industrial and renewable energy sectors. Prior to UBQ, co-founded and managed Merhav Renewable Energies (MRE), where he developed and implemented large-scale wind, solar and bioethanol projects around the world. Before selling MRE in 2008, Tato served as the President and CEO of Ampal-American Israel Corporation, an investment company traded on both the NASDAQ and the Tel Aviv stock exchanges.
A native of Lima-Peru, Tato grew up at the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Diving and sailing are a passion that he carries till today. Tato currently resides in Tel Aviv with his wife and four kids.
