Joel is currently Director of EHR Communications at Vancouver Island Health, the publicly funded health care provider in the southwestern portion of the Canadian province of British Columbia. Prior to this, he was Private sector engagement, Health and Multilateral Partnerships at WHO, advancing engagement with the private sector and other non-state actors in a way that is consistent with WHO’s corporate 5-year strategy, preserving the neutrality and technical independence of the Organization and leveraging support and expertise from other actors to achieve greater impact in countries. His career highlights include launching the Solidarity Response Fund to support the global response to COVID-19, co-planning the Director-General’s programme for the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and drafting the first WHO private sector engagement strategy.
