Jonathan Maxwell is the Founder & CEO of Sustainable Development Capital LLP, which specialises in developing and investing in efficient and decentralised generation of energy (“EDGE”) projects and companies across the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia. Established in London in 2007, SDCL has completed over 50 investments in 10 countries, involving more than 50,000 properties and $2.5 billion in capital. Their investments seek to cut carbon and costs and improve energy security.
He has 28 years’ experience in finance and was recently recognised by the Independent’s Climate 100 List as one of the world’s foremost environmentalists. In 2023, his book “The Edge: How Competition for Resources is Pushing the World, and Its Climate, to the Brink – and What We Can Do About It” was published by John Murray Press (part of Hachette).
Jonathan holds a degree in Modern History from Oxford University.
