Mafruza’s Khan’s career in philanthropy, consulting and as an analyst has spanned over 25 years. Her work focuses on the intersection of social justice, economic equity, environmental sustainability and good governance. She has a successful track record of serving as an inclusive and effective organisational leader and manager, mobilising resources, fostering strategic partnerships, developing and implementing strategy, programmes and operational plans, forecasting and managing budgets and facilitating engagement among diverse stakeholders. Prior to joining BRAC, she worked as the CEO for Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC) in Singapore in 2021. At APC, she provided overall leadership and developed, articulated and visualised the organisational model. 

Mafruza has a Master’s degrees in City & Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley and in Economics from Dhaka University. She was the single winner of the World Bank Graduate Scholarship from Bangladesh, which supported her graduate studies at Berkeley.
