Michelle is a city kid, born and raised in Singapore. Having seen the declining food growing capacity in cities and city-dwellers’ disconnection with food sources, Michelle believes that building a sustainable food system in the heart of cities, and co-founded Rooftop Republic in 2015. They build and manage urban farms to transform under-utilised areas into vibrant natural spaces, create sources of nutritious organic food, and engage and empower communities to lead a sustainable lifestyle.
She has over 15 years of professional experience in global brand advertising in 4A firms. She is also a Vital Voices VV Grow 2020 Fellow and a winner of the Global Green Economic Forum Social Eco Game Changer Award 2020. Michelle is currently pursuing an Executive MBA with The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
