Thomas founded Pula in 2015 to provide innovative insurance products to people who have never bought insurance but need it. He has since driven its growth to provide micro-insurance to 6.7 million farmers across Africa, Asia and Latin America. He has developed partnerships with over 100 institutions and developed a digital platform that will set the stage for the next phase of the agriculture-insurance revolution. Previously, Thomas was the Insurance Director in Deloitte East Africa and also served as the Chief Actuary at UAP-Old Mutual Insurance Group, East Africa. In 2019, he was listed in the New York Times as a Global Visionary.
