Umeeda Switlo is the Co-Founder & CEO of Naledo, a Belize-based company best known for creating the world’s first wildcrafted whole root turmeric paste, Truly Turmeric. Under her leadership, Naledo is building a more sustainable and equitable supply chain, partnering with over 300 growers across 20 communities and generating more than $2.28 million USD for rural economies.

Umeeda’s journey into social entrepreneurship is rooted in her personal experience as a refugee; Umeeda fled Uganda for Canada in 1973, a pivotal moment that shaped her entrepreneurial vision. At Naledo, she champions sustainable practices and supports small-scale growers.
