Dr. Diana Wangari is a medical doctor with over 5 years’ experience in healthcare management, social entrepreneurship and investment experience in sub-Saharan Africa. Her mission is to create “More Female CEOs” and she is currently Principal at Lens Africa, raising a $50 million Gender-Lens Investment fund focusing on healthcare and financial inclusion in Eastern Africa.
Previously, she served as Co-Founder and CEO of Checkups Medical Centre, a technology enabled network of rapid outpatient clinics that raised capital of over $5 million to expand in Kenya and South Sudan. Her new venture MedBoda, is a community medical distribution platform for patients with non-communicable diseases. She trained as medical doctor at the University of Nairobi and in public health communication at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp.
Her multi-award-winning impact work has seen her being recognised by the UN Social Good Summit and awarded as Forbes 30 under 30 Africa, Top 40 women in Business Kenya and Top 100 Influential Young Kenyans and Top 40 under 40 Business Elites in Africa. Recently, she was recognised as UK’s Rare Rising Star 2020 and Management Today’s Top 35 under 35 Women in Business UK.
