Eunice Sampson is the Director of Climate Change & Sustainability at EY West Africa. Previous to this, she joined Dangote Cement Plc, Africa’s leading cement manufacturer in 2018 as General Manager and Head, Sustainability, where she actively supported the brand to achieve a strong alignment between its financial and non-financial performance, in line with the balanced scorecard sustainability principle.
She has been a firm advocate of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She supported Dangote Cement and other subsidiaries within the Dangote Group to identify, adopt and integrate SDGs that align with their business focus, sustainability agenda and overall corporate strategy.
Before joining Dangote in 2018, Eunice was the pioneer Head of CSR and Sustainability at Zenith Bank Plc, West Africa’s largest financial institution, where she put in over 15 years supporting the brand to build a culture of proactive environmental and social risk management and leading the Bank to take ‘carbon responsibility’ across its operations. She has supported the mainstreaming of Sustainability in the Nigerian banking sector through her active role in driving industry-wide consciousness on the integration of the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles (NSBP), a sustainability regulation unveiled for players in the financial services sector in 2012 by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
