Anna Hammond is the Founder & CEO of Matriark Foods, a circular economy food business launched in 2019 that upcycles farm surplus and byproducts from vegetable manufacturers into delicious, healthy food for foodservice, retail, and emergency response.

Matriark is a business solution to mitigating the negative effects that wasted food (wasted nutrition) has on the environment, while offering additional markets to farmers, and creating greater access to healthy food for all people. Their products can be found on Sysco, USFoods, Whole Foods, Fresh Direct and the Feeding America marketplace among others.

Anna has won numerous awards, including the climate changemaker award 2024 (CUNY center for Food Policy) and the emerging leader award (Specialty Food Association 2024). She is a founding member and spokesperson for the Upcycled Food Association and has also built case studies with Google and Planet FWD on upcycled foods.
