Patrick Mkoma is the Co-Founder & CEO of RUMO Energy, pioneering an innovative rent-to-own business model. The aim is to enable rural off grid households in Sub Saharan region households, at the base of the pyramid and in more remotes areas, to affordably access and own solar lanterns for lighting, charging their phones and addressing financial constraints. The strategy collaborates with existing retail outlets in rural areas, predominantly run by women as commissioned distributors, and they have managed to empower the lives of 10,000 people with affordable solar energy.
Patrick has a bachelor in project Planning management and Community development from University of Dodoma Tanzania. He has spent nine years working on energy projects in various Sub-Saharan countries that address energy poverty to rural communities.
