Dr Alain Abi Rizk is the Founder and CEO of One Health SAL, the first animal diagnostics lab in the Middle East which provides high quality microbiological, serological, molecular and analytical testing services. One Health SAL are specialised in several aspects of animals health management, mainly for poultry, birds, cattle, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, horses, pigs and others.
Alain is an Associate Professor of Animal Health Management and Viral Pathogenesis Coordinator of the Agriculture Engineering Programme at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik), wherein his academic work focuses on animal health management, virology, genetics, and cancers in Lebanon and the Middle East.
Alain is also the President of Metrology Chapter at the Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Science (LAAS), a Global Technical Consultant for Animal Health Management and TV anchor at LBC I and MTV Lebanon. He was appointed as coordinator of GCHERA 2015 “Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences” and the 13th Conference of the OIE Regional Commission for the Middle East. Additionally, Alain was the former Head of Agricultural Sciences Department and former Assistant Dean for International Affairs.
Alain holds an Agricultural Engineering Diploma specialised in microbiology, a PhD in cellular biology – ‘microorganisms, infections, interactions’ – a diploma in Good Laboratory Practices ‘GLP’, and a special certificate in geopolitics. He has previous experience in a multinational pharmaceutical company and academic expertise with more than 30 peer reviewed articles and a book.
