Joyce Kamande was born in a semi-arid in Central Kenya 28 years ago. She has 5 years “hands-on” experience in the economic empowerment of rural smallholder farmers and youths. Joyce is a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Safi Organics where she focuses on ensuring the organic fertiliser is delivered to the farmer is of the right quality and quantity. Joyce holds a masters degree in Procurement and Logistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Joyce is an environmental enthusiast and passionate about empowering the youths and smallholder farmers in the rural areas in Africa and she believes that it is possible to economically empower the farmers through sustainable agriculture. She is currently acting as the Thought for food Ambassador in Kenya.
During her free time, she educates the youths and women in rural areas to make handmade mats, ornaments, and also on value addition to the local food. Her love for the girl Child goes the extra mile as she empowers the male child to make hygiene bags to carry the sanitary pads for the women.
She is a member of YALI Network, Chattered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies.
