Wan Young Cha is the CEO of Marine Innovation, which makes 100% eco-friendly bioplastics using seaweed by-products.
They use an innovative technology to extract bioplastic ingredients from seaweed and vegetable ingredients. The extracted bioplastics, biodegradable within up to 90 days, can be used in various fields such as plastic bags, coatings and container manufacturing. Their two product lines are “Dalharoo” (Korean Sweet Jelly), which is made by seaweed extract used in the food industry, and “Anoodam”, biodegradable single-use food containers made of seaweed by-product.
Wan has 20 years of experience in developing eco-friendly materials and products, strategic business development and operations with dynamic and result-driving leadership.
